Jamba Juice Matcha Smoothie & Customized Postcards Giveaway

Those calla lilies are from my garden!
A girl is sitting in a sun and feeling an air breeze in a farm while writing about a sustainable food. It sounds awesome right? You think it's me? I wish! A friend of mine, she was living in a farm for a time being, learning about a sustainable food, and writing about food. I imagined the atmosphere and pictured myself on an open field while receiving tweets from her. It's heaven on a ground. I know. If you're a tweeter handler, feel free to find me at www.twitter.com/tananthap or at tweet tag #ijustlovemyapron. We'll be connected in an instant!

I figure I should post a refreshing beverage before the Summer is gone. This matcha drink is real simple. I got an inspiration from Jamba Juice. The only beverage I drink at Jamba Juice is Matcha Blast Smoothie. It's creamy, not too sweet, and you can taste a matcha flavor. However, to spend almost $4 a day isn't an ideal at this downturn economy and stock crash market. So, I mimic the drink and I think it's pretty close! Jamba Juice uses frozen yogurt but I opted to vanilla yogurt which makes it easier. I sometimes freeze it before using to make this drink.

I also used soy milk green tea flavor I found at my favorite grocery. It added more green tea flavor without ruining the taste. If you can't find it, vanilla soy milk works just fine.

Before I leave you with this refreshing smoothie, I have a giveaway to share! They are 100 customized postcards from UPrinting. There's green tea flavored soy milk! Haven't seen it at TJ's which is where I buy my soy milk. Anyway, your smoothie sounds delicious and probably less sugar than Jamba Juice's!

Hi Tanantha, as always great photos and interesting recipes. How are you? I haven't been posting recipes lately. Just been very busy, lots of things going on. I had the chance today to visit all my foodie friends' sites. (I have to take advantage of this since I have the time) Take care and happy cooking. I will visit again soon.

Hi Tanantha!
I want to find the green tea soy milk, where did you buy it?
Your smoothie looks so refreshing and flavorful, I just love the color;-)

Mmm, I love matcha, and I didn't even know Jamba Juice made a matcha smoothie! Where have I been! I agree with you about not spending $4 a pop for them, though. I'll have to try your delicious-looking homemade version! I'll also try your trick of freezing the yogurt first - perfect for hot summer days :)

The postcards look like a very handy way to spread a message! I hope you have a lovely week, Tanantha :)
